We are a nation of enough. Enough compassion…enough creativity… and yes, enough money… Yet millions of Americans face an increasingly difficult struggle to eke out a minimal existence in the wealthiest country in the world.
- 8 million jobs have disappeared in the past three years.
- The housing market has collapsed, with values dropping by more than half in some cities.
- Schools and health clinics have suffered an endless spiral of cutbacks.
- Household wealth has evaporated, with communities of color especially hard-hit.
These extraordinary times demand an extraordinary response.
The Campaign for Community Change builds the power and capacity of low-income people, especially people of color, to change the policies and institutions that shape their lives.
Your contribution will help us build a people-powered movement by:
- Training local people to speak in public, organize their neighbors and drive action on key debates;
- Educating and mobilizing local people;
- Collecting individual stories of hardship and struggle; and
- Providing money, technology and other resources for local leaders to build this movement block by block, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.
