Our History
Since our founding in 2006, the Campaign for Community Change has worked to fuel modern social change movements on behalf of poor communities nationwide.
We are the political action sister organization to the Center for Community Change (CCC), founded in 1968 to carry on the legacy and the vision of Robert F. Kennedy.
We unite proven organizing strategies for mobilizing local communities with high-tech organizing tools including mobile phones, social networks and other new technologies.
The Campaign for Community Change has made a difference. Here are just a few recent examples:
-
In 2010, we mobilized communities across the country to win key votes in favor of the historic health reform law.
-
In 2010, we led efforts to bring 250,000 Americans to the Mall in Washington to demand immigration reform.
- Today, we’re training more than 1,000 new activist leaders in swing states as we build a new movement for job reform.
