Our Work
Mobilizing Voters
The Campaign for Community Change works with community based
organizations in several states to conduct large scale voter contact
and mobilization programs focused on low-income people of color. This
program moves hundreds of thousands to the polls AND strengthens the
power of our partner organizations to advocate for their needs and
values to policymakers.
501(c)4 Incubator Program
Grassroots communities decide to establish 501(c)4 organizations
when they need their constituencies to have a voice in political arenas
where traditional 501(c)3 non profit groups can not operate. For
populations that have long been marginalized and disenfranchised—like
low-income people, immigrants and people of color—such a public voice
is critical. Traditionally, grassroots groups have had to find their
own way through the complexities of creating and conducting 501(c)4
organizations. The Campaign for Community Change has begun a pilot
project to help incubate these organizations and increase their
effectiveness through shared training, technical assistance and
evaluation.

Online Advocacy
The Campaign for Community Change is building a robust online
advocacy capacity driven by the issues that matter most to low-income
communities and communities of color. The focus on issues of poverty,
social justice and racial justice will set the Campaign for Community
Change apart. There are millions of Americans who care deeply about
poverty and social and racial justice, but we do not have a vehicle for
mobilizing this constituency in an ongoing way on federal legislation
and other issues. Meeting this need will become critical to move
progressive values and priorities in Washington on issues such as
health care, immigration, and worker justice.
Lobbying for Change
The Campaign for Community Change plays a supporting role to
the work of its sister organization, the Center for Community Change.
The Center contracts with the Campaign to conduct its lobbying work and
bring the voice of grassroots communities to our nation's capitol.
While our focus is always on the grassroots, the Campaign ensures that
the needs of low-income people and communities of color are heard loud
and clear in Washington, DC.
